The Origin of Southern Comfort Gaited Horse Club
Southern Comfort started in 2002 as a gaited horse drill team. For the next 6 years they
gave exhibitions featuring a variety of gaited horses performing in parades, drills and
demonstrations. In 2009 the drill team morphed into a gaited horse club recognizing a
need for an organization for gaited horse riders and owners. We now sponsor varieties
of events including camping trips, trail rides, training clinics, and fun days. Future plans
call for any equine activities interesting to members. Coming full circle, a major activity
of the new Southern Comfort is a Spanish Horse Exhibition Drill Team demonstrating
the comfort of the four beat gaits for many of the same venues.
Meetings are the second Monday each month, 7:00 pm. See announcement for designated place.
