Southern Comfort Gaited Horse Club is for people who love sound, naturally gaited horses of all breeds, want to learn more about them, have fun, and meet other people who share these goals. We promote activities highlighting the smooth ride and versatility of our gaited horses. Pursuits include trail riding, competitions, shows, exhibitions, clinics and many other equine activities. Owning a horse is not a requirement!

**The next meeting will be Monday, June 11, at the home of Sandy Young, 6800 E. Greenhurst, 867-4084. Potluck begins at 6:30 and the meeting starts at 7:00. There will be a presentation on Equine Therapy by Katrina Pavlovich, ESMT, BEAT.
Upcoming Events
- ** ** Clinic Series with Lawrance Valdez. The clinics will cover a variety of topics and will address things at each clinic where individuals may need help. There will also be a trail session out on trail. Horse/Rider participants: $125 non-members per horse, and $100 for members. Audit: $15 non-members and $10 members. The next clinic is a two day event on June 9-10. ($175 and $150) Call Sandy Young for more information, 867-4084. - **Southern Comfort will host a Poker Ride sat Eagle Island on October 7. Watch for more information as it becomes available. The Playday Fun Show will be November 3 at Al Birt Arena. Stay tuned.
- **Gait Recognition Clinic**Nya Bates will be doing a Gait Recognition Clinic that is a group thing in a classroom setting. Members: $5 Non-Members: $10. (Proceeds donated to F.O.S.H.) She will do private gait recognition and correction lessons at a discounted rate, $50 if she travels to you, $40 if you go to her place, $10 if you send her a video of your horse.
- **Sandy Young will be hosting a Paso Fino clinic with Alberto Sierra, successful paso fino breeder, trainer, judge, clinician, showman. He comes from Columbia from a family that has been involved with paso finos for multiple generations. He has been in the states for many many years and has lived and worked out of northern Idaho & Montana for about 8-10 years. Date and details TBD. He will take up to 10 participants for a 2 day clinic. .
- ** Sandy Young will be hosting Parelli Natural Horsemanship style playdays at her place (6800 E. Greenhurst, Nampa) for fun and learning this year, at least once a month. If there is enough interest to do more she will set them up. The cost is $5 per horse and the $$ will be donated towards hay/feed/supplies for the rescue ranch or FOSH. Space is limited, about 10 rigs, so hitch a ride with a friend.
